Learning from Design Failures: A Virtual Mathematics Tutoring Program

In this design case, we describe our first attempt to create a virtual mathematics tutoring program for students with learning disabilities. We in detail how the was motivated by pandemic which forced schools into remote learning, university and school collaborated on design, rationale decisions, aspects of that did not meet intended outcomes. Three interrelated failures included problems flexible scheduling, challenges seeing students’ work, inconsistent use collaborative, communication tool. Pervasive all these were underlying issues associated being remote. share experience from altering features future
